SCARECROW KING REVIEWS

Scarecrow King is top drawer!

Jason Whited is a young man fast making a name for himself on the Nashville scene—and it’s not hard to see why. This extremely talented singer and guitarist has put together a beautiful debut album that would make anyone proud.
The production and musicianship on Scarecrow King is top drawer and Jason’s voice has a golden quality with almost a gospel feel at times that fits perfectly to an excellently chosen song set. My personal favorites were “Forecast Cold & Lonely Overnight”, “Let’s Do A Little Dance In The Kitchen”, “Walk You Off My Mind”, and “Grand Opening Of My Heart”. Great songs with witty, intelligent lyrics! Keep an eye on Jason Whited’s career as I have a very strong feeling you’ll be hearing a lot more from him in the future.

Splendid Nashville based singer songwriter…

“…it’s just a pleasure to play this guy - I’ve really enjoyed playing his music on previous weeks of the program… Jason Whited, USA-based, Nashville-based, and just one of those many great singer/songwriters out there who really are plugging away and doing a fantastic business, and perhaps not getting the exposure they deserve, we aim to make that right on McLean’s Country: Jason Whited… splendid Nashville based singer songwriter… this is a great song… Honky Tonkin’…”

Highly recommend this album!

If like many others who listen to music you’re wondering whatever happened to the Crooners? You know, the mellow smooth-voiced guys...well, there are a few still out there performing and Jason Whited, that crooner from the Heartland is among the best. His Scarecrow King CD is a fine example of how he does just that. I highly recommend this album.

One of the finest!

Jason Whited’s Scarecrow King Debut Album is one of the finest slabs of full blooded Americana to hit my ears in a very long time! I’ll be playing Jason’s CD on my program again…keep listening!

Delivers its very own signature sound!

Jason Whited and George Clinton have produced a sound and feel on Scarecrow King that is pure, raw and infectious. And it's so unlike the 'commercial sound of country'...there's just nothing else to really compare it with! Scarecrow King has crossed over the boundaries of country music...and delivers its very own signature sound."

Wow…

"…what a great voice…True Love Ways sounds beautiful!”

Scarecrow King has a raw, in-your-face kind of feel!

“The J-man is in excellent voice! His Scarecrow King Album has a raw ‘in your face’ kind of feel: The over-all mix has that big time studio sound: musically everything sounds exactly as it should. Jason’s voice sounds strong ...and he is at his best with songs like this. “Let’s Do A Little Dance In The Kitchen” is solid. It has a cool ‘calypso’ kind of groove that perks right along. “Half An Hour From Happiness” is a happy tune with a happy kind of feel and a happy melodic movement that sticks in your head. It almost sounds like an ‘oldie’. Well executed with a mellow resonance. And the title-cut “Scarecrow King” certainly rocks; these musicians kick some serious ass! True Love Ways was a hit. It may be again! As always, Jason’s strength is in the crooner tunes...and I’d have to say True Love Ways sounds better than ever. Overall, very impressive!”

Scarecrow King is definitely worth the money!

Rock-a-Billy isn’t a style that everyone will enjoy, but Jason Whited’s newly released Scarecrow King is sure to bring out the Tennessean in all of us. Despite your feelings on this particular genre of music, Scarecrow King is definitely worth the money. Murfreesboro’s very own Jason Whited is on his way to becoming Nashville’s next big thing!

More than pleased with Scarecrow King

Jason has a great voice and more than that he sings with care and emotion and it comes through on this recording.

Wow! Talk about talent.

Jason, WOW! Talk about talent. My three year old son and I have listened to your CD all the way though 4 times (to and from school). His favorite song is "Ready or Not"---I hear him singing some of the words in the back seat in his car seat. :) I'd have to say my favorites are also "Ready or Not", and the ones about the ‘got my leg a-twitchin', put those beans on back burner baby’, “Let's Do A Little Dance In The Kitchen” and the weather forecaster being "Cold & Lonely Overnight" (I hope I'm quoting correctly). "Scarecrow King" makes me smile—poor Leo! We love it! Good luck on your career and look forward to hearing more of your music.

“Nothing contrived…nothing fake…nothing copied…no wannabee in this voice!

What I hear is someone who has felt some pain and some love and has a true sense of what matters in life. There’s heart and soul in every note coming out of you. Son, you can sing!”
